Mafia Wars Secret Stash

I have been getting a number of questions asking if I have any information on the Mafia Wars Secret Stash. While I do not know a great deal about it I am happy to share what I do know.
- The Secret Stash appears randomly after completing a job or winning a fight.
- When you find a Secret Stash you will be allowed to pick from a choice of three items.
- After you have chosen your reward you can share the stash with up to 5 of your friends.
- You can open Secret Stashes that are sent to you by friends.
- You can only open a total of 10 per day.
- There are two types of Secret Stash, jobs and fights.
- Only one person can open a stash found in a fight.
Types of loot
While I do not know the exact loot that is available (I honestly don’t think anyone does), I can tell you that the types are given away by the various news feed icons. The ones I have seen so far include:
- job loot
- collection items
- Bonuses
- Weapons
- Armor
- Vehicles
The only thing that I do not remember seeing is the animal category.
Like I said I don’t know a lot about the Secret Stash, but I will post more as I learn more.
Mafia Wars Secret Drop

While the Secret Drop has been part of the Mafia Wars universe since September 23, 2010 many people simply do not understand it and think of the opportunity to set up a secret drop as another annoying pop-up that distracts from the game.
Believe me, while sometimes annoying, a Secret Drop can be VERY rewarding.
Secret Drop Facts
- Found by robbing rivals or when your collect from your properties.
- Boosts can be earned through Secret Drops.
- You can share Secret Drops with your mafia.
- The limit is 3 Secret Drops per day.

As you can see the rewards from a Secret Drop are nothing to sneeze at and they are definitely worth taking a few seconds to use when they do pop up.
Your Own Private Zoo in Mafia Wars

Zynga introduced the Private Zoo to the Mafia Wars game on December 10, 2010. The Private Zoo is a non-cash generation property in New York. What it lacks in currency income is made up by providing you with animals that can boost your in game strength.
To set up your Private Zoo you will need the following building materials.
- Aquarium
- Big Cage
- Bird Cage
- Feeding Tough
- Terrarium
Like other properties in the game you can increase the level of your Private Zoo by upgrading it. The cost of upgrades can be found below.

The Private Zoo produces animal feed which is used to produce animals. Another type of feed that you will need is called Exotic Feed. Exotic Feed is acquired by posting a part request or from gifting.

Mafia Wars Governor’s Run

Zynga has always been good about giving us interesting things to do as little surprises in Mafia Wars. The latest in this line of mini missions or wall post events is “Governor’s Run”.
Basically what you are doing in this mini mission is fixing an election so you become the next Governor of Manhattan.
Governor’s Run Facts
- Mission is available from 12/8/2010 through 12/12/2010
- Send invitations out to your mafia asking them to vote for you for Governor of Manhattan.
- Special limited edition item is the prize.
- 9 votes are required to qualify for the prize.
- Return the favor for you mafia members.
Governor’s Run Mission Reward

Nice weapon and it would be even nicer if you could earn many of them but alas they are one to a customer.
Here is the official Zynga take on Governor’s Run.
Get your friends to rig the election for you in the upcoming Governor’s Run! If you want to rise to power quickly, you’ll need the help of your mafia members. Send out special invites to your mafia and make sure 9 people cast their vote for you. When you get 9 to show their support, you’ll receive the limited edition item, 2nd Amendment, as your reward. With 52 attack and 80 defense, this weapon is sure to come in handy if you’re ever in a jam. Remember to return the favor and accept invitations from your mafia as well. Keep an eye out for the Governor’s Run.

** Game Cards allow you to send bonus Reward Points to friends or members of your mafia, however you must pay real money to do this.
Gifting is a great way to get your hands on needed items but the key is to only gift to players that you know are active and who will in turn gift back. Sending gifts to inactive players is counter productive since there is literally zero chance that they will return the favor. It may take a bit of trial and error gifting to find your active players, but once you do you can make a killing.
Mafia Wars Armor Plated Crates

There have been many different kinds of crates available in Mafia Wars since the game emerged on the social network gaming scene. The newest version of the crate is the Armor Plated Crate.
Like all crates they are purchased from the Marketplace with Godfather Points (Reward Points). At the time of this writing the cost was 12 points for one crate or 35 points for three.
The chance of getting a each rarity is the same in both single and 3 crate purchases.
Common Item – 60%
Uncommon Item – 30%
Rare Item – 10%
You may be wondering if purchasing crates is worth blowing the Reward Points so I thought I would give you a list of all of the items that might be in each crate so you can make an informed decision.

My own personal opinion on crates is that the cost of the crate outweighs the benefit that might be gained by purchasing them, but there are those who have differing opinions. What it really boils down to is your own personal preference.
Be a Secret Santa in Mafia Wars

If you have been playing mafia Wars for any length of time you undoubtedly realize that the major aspect of the game is its social nature. Dominating the criminal underworld is fun, but it is made more enjoyable when it is done with friends.
Mafia Wars encourages group participation through the use of social missions that allows you to involve your mafia in your criminal exploits. Most of the social missions require a varying number of helpers, have a time limit, provide loot for all involved, and give the mission host an additional reward.
Since we have entered into the Christmas Season, or Holiday Season if you prefer, it is time for the Secret Santa Social mission. I thought I would break the entire mission down for you.

Forge Your Destiny in Mafia Wars

Recently we saw the following official announcement from the folks at Mafia Wars.
Stay tuned, Mafia Wars Fans – It’s almost time to “Forge Your Destiny” and celebrate the Armory! New items will be added to the Armory and for 5 days, build 2 limited time Armory items called the Pantheon Tactical Plate and the Crimson Iron Chest Plate. This isn’t the heavy metal of the 1980’s. You’ll need special parts called Tech Plates to get the job done. Give and receive Tech Plates with free Tech Plate gifts and your news feeds. To get this event started, the Godfather will supply you with enough Armory parts to upgrade your Armory one level. The Armory crafting timer will also be cut in half so you will have plenty of opportunities to build your Man of Steel!
Events are a big part of the Mafia Wars universe and they are a great way to get your paws on some very nice equipment. The Forge Your Destiny event adds 5 items to the Armory, 2 temporary and 3 permanent. The advantages of the items in this event are very great indeed.
Here is a quick list of the new items.

Mafia Wars Cake Jailbreak Event Exposed

We all know that the gang over at Zynga have never been stingy when it comes to providing the players of their top social network game, Mafia Wars with new and exciting events. Today we are going to learn about one of the most current events, the Mafia Wars Cake Jailbreak event.
Here is the official Zynga take on the event.
You can have your cake and eat it too with the upcoming Cake Jailbreak event! You’ll have a limited time to collect different cakes from your mafia to earn awesome new mastery items. You’ll be working on 3 cakes filled with escape tools to get out of jail. Each cake will have 3 levels of mastery for you to complete. As you finish one level, you’ll move on to a more challenging level. Get on your Mafia’s good side and have them send you as many cakes as you can get your hands on!
The Birthday Cake, Wedding Cake, and Cupcakes will be unlocked one at a time and available to send from your free gifts page. Help your friends out during the event by sending these special desserts their way so they’ll reap the sweet rewards as well. Once you master all 3 cakes through the gold level, you’ll be rewarded with the grand prize for your efforts.
Events in Mafia Wars have always been fun and in most cases provided some very nice equipment that you can use to strengthen your mafia and the Mafia Wars Cake Jailbreak event does not disappoint in this area either.
The event can be replayed a total of three times after mastery. Here is list of the rewards that you will earn playing Cake Jailbreak in Mafia Wars. Each item will increase in attack and defense value as you complete the different levels.

Mafia Wars Sixth Generation Gold Treasure Chest

The first Gold Treasure Chest appeared in Mafia Wars on April 16th, 2010 offering some very nice items. We are not up to the 6th generation gold treasure chest.
Sixth Generation Gold Treasure Chest Facts
- 6th generation gold treasure chests may be found by doing jobs and are on a random chance.
- In order to open your treasure chest you will need a key; which can be purchased from the Marketplace, it costs 9 Reward Points.
- Hourly sales give you the opportunity to purchase keys at a reduced cost.
- You may send gold treasure chests as a gift, but the items inside are not giftable.
- You may win 1, 10, 20, 50, 100, or 1,000 Reward Points in each chest. Good luck on getting the big one!
