I have been getting a number of questions asking if I have any information on the Mafia Wars Secret Stash. While I do not know a great deal about it I am happy to share what I do know.
- The Secret Stash appears randomly after completing a job or winning a fight.
- When you find a Secret Stash you will be allowed to pick from a choice of three items.
- After you have chosen your reward you can share the stash with up to 5 of your friends.
- You can open Secret Stashes that are sent to you by friends.
- You can only open a total of 10 per day.
- There are two types of Secret Stash, jobs and fights.
- Only one person can open a stash found in a fight.
Types of loot
While I do not know the exact loot that is available (I honestly don’t think anyone does), I can tell you that the types are given away by the various news feed icons. The ones I have seen so far include:
- job loot
- collection items
- Bonuses
- Weapons
- Armor
- Vehicles
The only thing that I do not remember seeing is the animal category.
Like I said I don’t know a lot about the Secret Stash, but I will post more as I learn more.
Mafia Wars Secret Drop

While the Secret Drop has been part of the Mafia Wars universe since September 23, 2010 many people simply do not understand it and think of the opportunity to set up a secret drop as another annoying pop-up that distracts from the game.
Believe me, while sometimes annoying, a Secret Drop can be VERY rewarding.
Secret Drop Facts
- Found by robbing rivals or when your collect from your properties.
- Boosts can be earned through Secret Drops.
- You can share Secret Drops with your mafia.
- The limit is 3 Secret Drops per day.
Rewards that can be found in Secret Drops.
Blue Sky 55

As you can see the rewards from a Secret Drop are nothing to sneeze at and they are definitely worth taking a few seconds to use when they do pop up.
Accessing the Central Mainframe in Mafia Wars

Zynga keeps adding new features to Mafia Wars and I for one and quite happy that the do so as regularly as they do. Of course as a social network game Mafia Wars suffers from the same perils that all of the other ones do. That Peril is the fact that they are all designed with those who want fast action in mind. Unlike Massively Multi-Player Online Games, social network games have to depend on quantity over quality.
One of the newest features that have arrived lately is called “Central Mainframe Access.” I am unsure if everyone has access to this feature or if it is some kind of beta thing because I have been told by some long time players that they have not seen anything about it in game.
To get access to the mainframe keep doing missions and eventually (I hope) you will be presented with a pop up that says, “You’ve obtained a secret code.” You cant miss it when it pops. On the screen you will be given a code that you need to write down because you will be using it each day to access the mainframe.
On the Mafia Wars home page you will be able to access the mainframe once per day. When you do, simply enter your code and you will receive bonuses. Today I was given +3 Attack but other players have gotten +3 Defense. I do not know if these two bonuses are all you can get but I would hope that there are a number of different ones.
I know what you are thinking. Once you have the code you can use it on all of your accounts (if you have multiple), but you would be incorrect. The code is tied to the account that it is given to. While I do not know if there are any consequences other than it not working when using the code on another account, there could be so play it safe.
Zynga is really good at coming up with content and other little features that work wonderfully to keep a social network game up and running. They seem to go the extra mile to keep their players happy for the most part and that is rare in many games lately. If you haven’t gotten your code yet keep on trying I am fairly sure that this isn’t some kind of beta or limited thing.
