We all know that the gang over at Zynga have never been stingy when it comes to providing the players of their top social network game, Mafia Wars with new and exciting events. Today we are going to learn about one of the most current events, the Mafia Wars Cake Jailbreak event.
Here is the official Zynga take on the event.
You can have your cake and eat it too with the upcoming Cake Jailbreak event! You’ll have a limited time to collect different cakes from your mafia to earn awesome new mastery items. You’ll be working on 3 cakes filled with escape tools to get out of jail. Each cake will have 3 levels of mastery for you to complete. As you finish one level, you’ll move on to a more challenging level. Get on your Mafia’s good side and have them send you as many cakes as you can get your hands on!
The Birthday Cake, Wedding Cake, and Cupcakes will be unlocked one at a time and available to send from your free gifts page. Help your friends out during the event by sending these special desserts their way so they’ll reap the sweet rewards as well. Once you master all 3 cakes through the gold level, you’ll be rewarded with the grand prize for your efforts.
Events in Mafia Wars have always been fun and in most cases provided some very nice equipment that you can use to strengthen your mafia and the Mafia Wars Cake Jailbreak event does not disappoint in this area either.
The event can be replayed a total of three times after mastery. Here is list of the rewards that you will earn playing Cake Jailbreak in Mafia Wars. Each item will increase in attack and defense value as you complete the different levels.

The first Gold Treasure Chest appeared in Mafia Wars on April 16th, 2010 offering some very nice items. We are not up to the 6th generation gold treasure chest.
Sixth Generation Gold Treasure Chest Facts
- 6th generation gold treasure chests may be found by doing jobs and are on a random chance.
- In order to open your treasure chest you will need a key; which can be purchased from the Marketplace, it costs 9 Reward Points.
- Hourly sales give you the opportunity to purchase keys at a reduced cost.
- You may send gold treasure chests as a gift, but the items inside are not giftable.
- You may win 1, 10, 20, 50, 100, or 1,000 Reward Points in each chest. Good luck on getting the big one!

Mafia Wars Black Friday Raid

The folks over at Zynga have always provided fun and exciting events on holidays and this Thanksgiving weekend is no exception. The Mafia Wars Black Friday Event started on Friday November 26 and runs through Monday November 28.
During the Black Friday Event you will find that there are many very nice items on sale a deep discounts. Here is the official notice that was posted by Zynga regarding the event.
It’s a Thanksgiving sale-abration! Get ready for huge savings for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. From November 26th through the 29th, you’ll be able to enjoy significant discounts on all items in the Marketplace. You’ll have to hurry for the savings though – sale items are only available for a limited time, so act fast and do your shopping before they sell out at the reduced prices.
While you shop, you’ll also be able to participate in the Black Friday Heist. You’ll be given a high stat truck as soon as the event is underway, and you’ll work to keep it by filling it with 15 Marketplace goodies. Once it’s filled, it’ll be put in your inventory. Not only are you getting sweet savings, you’ll be getting a great limited edition item to boot!
As an added bonus, when you spend:
- 500-999 RPs, you could win a Mafia Wars Dog-Tag necklace

Mafia Wars Rumble in Russia

The Rumble in Russia fight event is on the way. Here is the official Zynga announcement
New bosses, new fights, new rewards – Get ready for the Rumble in Russia fight event! Players will be taking on 4 bosses with the help of their mafia in order to earn a special mastery item. Each boss requires that the previous boss be defeated before progressing further. You’ll need to ask your mafia for help to defeat each boss before time runs out. When your mafia comes to your aid, they’ll be able to fight a boss as if they are facing the boss themselves. Those who earn the most damage per boss fight will receive additional rewards!
Make sure you have your strongest gear and weapons in tow – each boss fight will become increasingly tougher as you make your way through the levels. Only after you defeat one boss will you be able to move on to the next. When you play, you’ll be rewarded for defeating each boss and earn mastery items along the way, as well as gain well-deserved bragging rights. Defeat all 4 bosses through the gold level and you’ll get the Ursa Major, with 60 attack and 115 defense, as your grand prize.

Mafia Wars San Juan Event – Time for Tropical Drinks and Big Fun

Zynga has always been great about giving us special events, holiday events, movie events and much more. Right now the San Juan event is going on. In this event you will face four very Bosses who have been running the Puerto Rican underworld. Will you come out on top?
All of the Bosses in San Juan are social missions. Social missions are those in which you can ask your mafia for help. The more people that respond the more success you will have. Once these Bosses are bested you will gain a mastery item as well as other rewards including experience and Las Vegas chips.
Each Boss can be defeated three times. At every defeat the mastery item that you acquired from a particular boss will become stronger. Once you have defeated each Boss for the third time you will be awarded a rare vehicle. Here is a quick list of the mastery items that you can win by completing Mafia Wars San Juan.

The San Juan event is a limited time encounter and lasts 10 days. When you engage a Boss you have a limited amount of time to defeat him. Bosses in San Juan are particularly tough and you may want to rely on shivs, stun guns, grenades and other fight enhancing boosts.
San Juan is a very welcome mini-adventure for Mafia Wars players and consists of defeating 4 quite tough Bosses. With risk comes reward in the form of mastery items that increase in power with successive defeats of the same boss. Finally after defeating all of the Bosses 3 times you will be rewarded with another mastery item. Hurry to San Juan to complete this limited time event.
Mafia Wars Mystery Vault

The Mystery Vault is new to Mafia Wars. It is a randomly appearing pop up that players are seeing from time to time that gives them the opportunity to find some limited loot, Reward Points or experience points.
To make use of the Mystery Vault you must click on “Email Me The Code!” You will have to give Zynga your email address of course.
After you have provided your email you will get a new email message from Mafia Wars or Zynga with a link in it that you will have to click. When you click the link you will be returned to your Mafia Wars page where you will be presented with a new message, which you must click in order to open the vault.
You can find random limited loot items, 1000 Reward Points, or 250 XP. To be totally honest you are most likely to find the experience points since giving away 1000 reward points would be counter productive to a game with the sale of reward points as its revenue model.

Mafia Wars Tax Evasion Party!

April 15th is a day that many people in America dread. It is the last day to file your income taxes and usually is a cause for dread. Not so this tax day. Mafia Wars is throwing a huge Tax Evasion party to lift your spirits and fill your bank account.
Zynga has been wonderful when it comes to celebrating holidays and other days of note. They did not fail on tax day either. The Mafia Wars Tax Evasion Party gives everyone that plays today (April 15) some perks that are very nice indeed.
Enjoy tax day by taking advantage of
- Double Mastery in ALL Cities
If you have been lagging behind or want to finish off a tier or two this is a great thing. Double mastery will give you a huge leg up when you are trying to finish off New York, Cuba, Moscow or Bangkok.
- The Backdoor
The Backdoor is one of the best defensive items in the game and boasts 21 Attack and 53 Defense.
As I said above, Zynga is great about providing interesting items and fun opportunities for holidays and other events.
Always take advantage of these opportunities, especially ones such as the Tax Evasion Party because they offer double mastery. While double mastery may not level your character quicker it does give you the chance to get your hands on some of the mastery items. These items are usually some of the best to be had in the entire game.
Mafia Wars St. Patrick’s Day Collection

Zynga has always been very good about putting out limited edition loot for major holidays and come to think of it some minor ones as well. St. Patrick’s Day is no exception.
St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated every March 17th and is named after Saint Patrick who lived from the year 387 to 461 and is the patron Saint of Ireland. St. Patrick’s day began as a purely Catholic holiday, then became an official feast day in the 1600’s, and eventually grew into a holiday celebrated around the world.
The holiday fits into the Mafia Wars imagery in that the Irish Mob dominated Boston and New York for more than a century before facing competition from Jewish and Italian gangs in the late 1900’s.
This year Zynga has given us a brand new collection to gather. Here they are and how you can get them.

Mafia Wars Treasure Chests

On Tuesday Zynga released “Treasure Chests” for Mafia Wars. The chests are a way that players can get their hands on a number of fairly sweet items. There is a catch however, the feature is not free. It will cost you some Godfather Points.
To participate in the “Treasure Chest” event you must acquire a Treasure Chest Key. To obtain this item you simply need to complete jobs as normal and you will be presented with a popup that offers you the chance to purchase the key for 9 Godfather points.
One might wonder if purchasing the key and participating in the event is really worth it. It is not my place to tell you if it is or not but I can help you make your decision by giving you a glimpse of the items that you can get if you choose to.

The above are the items that I have seen so far but may not be a complete list.
The items are very nice and are a must for those of us who are serious collectors and want at least one of everything available in Mafia Wars. If you have the spare Godfather points and want to get some good equipment then by all means jump on the offer. On the other hand there are items in the game that are much better and are completely free. The decision is yours.
Zynga also announced this week that the Bangkok Expansion will be going into beta sometime this week. With as many accounts as I have it is likely I will be able to begin to give you some insight on the expansion early next week. Feel free to leave some comments detailing your experiences if you are part of the beta as well.
The Last Score of 2009

Mafia Wars is running a year’s end job called the “Last Score of 2009.” The job is available right now and will continue through January 4th so get cracking on it if you want to master it.
The Last Score of 2009 job is different than other event or holiday jobs in that for the first time players will be able to choose their own path with three separate jobs to choose from.
