The first Gold Treasure Chest appeared in Mafia Wars on April 16th, 2010 offering some very nice items. We are not up to the 6th generation gold treasure chest.

Sixth Generation Gold Treasure Chest Facts

6th generation gold treasure chests may be found by doing jobs and are on a random chance.
In order to open your treasure chest you will need a key; which can be purchased from the Marketplace, it costs 9 Reward Points.
Hourly sales give you the opportunity to purchase keys at a reduced cost.
You may send gold treasure chests as a gift, but the items inside are not giftable.
You may win 1, 10, 20, 50, 100, or 1,000 Reward Points in each chest. Good luck on getting the big one!
