Zynga has opened the flood gates with Mafia Wars Triple Mastery. That’s right you can blow through the tiers of New York, Cuba, Bangkok, and Moscow.
If you have been wanting to finish off all of the old areas of Mafia Wars now is the time to do it. For many Mafia Wars players gathering consumables for the older areas of the game has always been a pain in the butt, but now that triple mastery is in place it will be a breeze. Triple mastery means that the consumable requirement is only one third of the amount that it used to be. So get crackin if you have been putting finishing up any area.
If you have always wanted to start a brand new account and fire up a new character but dreaded the tier and expansion grind now is the time to get off you butt and do it. Triple mastery will let you knock out those pesky tiers that made creating a new character something to dread. Though I do not endorse the use of 3rd party automation, coupling triple mastery with Mafia Wars Autoplayer could allow you to start a new character and knock out all of the original game plus Cuba, Bangkok, and Moscow in less than 24 hours, nearly on auto pilot.
New players will love the triple mastery but old timers like myself look at it as a “give away.” New players don’t have to suffer through the drudgery that we did and are seemingly rewarded for joining. They get triple mastery, only need 1 one third of the consumables that we had to work our butts off for.
Sorry if it sounds like I am complaining but I find it completely amazing that a company would crate a game that is monetized through the sale of Reward Points and then make it three times easier to complete zones. This, in my opinion removes the need for new players to purchase Reward Points and thus limits the income potential of the developer.
Love it or hate it, Mafia Wars Triple Mastery is now part of the game. If you have never gotten around to completing all of the tiers in New York, Cuba, Bangkok, or Moscow, now is the perfect time to do it. If you have always wanted a new character but hated the thought of the grind, you are in luck. Triple Mastery means one third of the work.
How To Get Mafia Wars Items For Free

As a true Mafia Wars player you have undoubtedly come to understand that there are some very nice items available in the game. While powerful weapons, armor, and vehicles can be found while completing missions there is one aspect of the game that the average player tends to over look. That aspect is gifting.
While Mafia Wars can be played completely solo, it is much more rewarding when cooperating with other players. A feature that was built into the game that can help you out immensely is the gifting feature. Using this feature you can give your mafia members items that will help them out in their criminal endeavors and they in turn can do the same for you.
If you are starting a new character the first thing that you want to do is get yourself into the mafia of other players so they can send you gifts. This is an excellent way to get your hands on materials to build your properties and get your hands on weapons and armor quickly. Don’t be afraid to send out requests for items that you need, but don’t be obnoxious about it. Sending out requests a couple times each day is acceptable, but sending requests hourly is not.

Gifts change regularly so you can get some very nice items for free by keeping in touch with your mafia. Getting gifts is great but don’t forget to send them in return. Since the number of gifts that you can send per day is limited, the best strategy is to send gifts to those who sent them to you first, then to other mafia members.
Use gifting as a method to equip your characters quickly, but always remember to keep your requests to a respectable amount.
Bangkok Consumables and Where You Can Find Them

One of the most enjoyable parts of running a blog on any subject is interacting with readers through email. This blog is no exception and I do my best to either respond to my readers through return email or in the case of multiple questions on the same subject, through a blog post to allow everyone to benefit from the answer.
This week alone I have received 4 email messages asking about consumables in Bangkok so I thought I would post a short message today that gives everyone information of them.
- Pirates
Pirates are acquired from the Bangkok Business “Privacy Operation”. In order to open up this business you will need to master the “Secure A Pirate Vessel” job which is in Bangkok Episode 3 that is aptly named Pirate.
You will need approximately 619 Pirates to complete Bangkok. If you plan to loot Lloyds Spectres you will need more.
10 Pirates may also be purchased in the Marketplace for the cost of 20 Reward Points.
- Drug Shipments
Drug Shipments come from the business “Drug Smuggling Ring” which may be unlocked by mastering the job “Buy Some Chemicals On The Black Market” which may be found in Bangkok Episode 4, Commandant.
About 555 Satellite phones are required to complete Bangkok.
You may also purchase 10 Drug Shipments from the Marketplace for 20 Reward Points.
- Satellite Phones
Unlike those consumables mentioned above, satellite phones are drop items. They may be found by completing the job “Hijack A Boat Load Of Electronics” in Bangkok Episode 3.
You are going to need about 470 Drug Shipments in order to complete the Bangkok expansion.
Satellite Phones are also for sale in the Marketplace in units of 10 for 20 Reward Points.

Mafia Wars Bangkok Episodes 6 and 7

The folks over at Zynga are keeping the pressure on and are very nearly ready to release Mafia Wars Bangkok Episodes 6 and 7. While Zynga may lack in some areas, I must admit that they do a good job of keeping the content coming.
Here is the Zynga text regarding the new episodes.
“Thought you’d finished with Bangkok? Think again. Return to the Far East for two all-new episodes for Bangkok, where you’ll need to fight to re-establish your hold as a major Yakuza and Triad boss. Extent you influence and consolidate your power base. It’s only a matter of time until you will be the greatest criminal in Asia, and you’ll need to overthrow the Thai government to protect your criminal empire. These episodes will only unlock after you have completed episodes 5a and 5b.
Watch out though – power has a way of bringing some unwanted attention from some shadowy forces… With completely new jobs and Mastery items, there are new challenges and prizes that await. Are you ready to conquer the mysteries of Thailand?”

It is unclear if the additional Bangkok episodes will be released before Las Vegas but if I had to place a wager I would bet that these episodes do indeed come first. Many players have already mastered everything there is to do in the game and it is my belief that the new episodes are fillers to retain players until Las Vegas is ready.
As you can see from the official text, mastery of both episodes 5a and 5b will be required in order to unlock the new content. This requires that you get all warm and fuzzy with both the Yakuza and Triad. Next week I will give you some instruction on exactly how to do that.
With two new Bangkok episodes on the way you will need to hit the jobs list fast and hard and discover how to be on a first name basis with both factions. If you have not finished Bangkok yet get started so you are ready when the new content hits.
Bangkok Crates Have Arrived

With the beginning of the Bangkok Beta the folks at Zynga have of course come up with new crates to spend your Godfather Points on. Crates can be a very quick way of getting your hands on some decent gear in a hurry but in most cases the items that you can get simply by playing the game is better.
The cost of these crates is
1 Bangkok Crate: 12 Reward Points
3 Bangkok Crates: 35 Reward Points
Each crate has the same odds for rare items
- 10% chance for Rare
- 30% chance for Uncommon
- 60% chance for Common
